Restoration of Üryanizade Ahmed Esad Efendi Mosque

Üryanizade Ahmed Esad Efendi Mosque on Abdullahağa Street on the coast of Kuzguncuk, Üsküdar was built in 1860. The rectangular wooden mosque has a wooden pulpit and a sermon pulpit. Similarly, it is a unique structure in Istanbul with its wooden kiosk-type minaret decorated with diamond motifs and its location right on the sea. As a result of the tender made by the 2nd Regional Directorate of Foundations between 2013 and 2017, a comprehensive repair was carried out under the responsibility of our company. Within the scope of this repair, the wooden load-bearing wall and flooring elements that were completely rotten due to humidity were replaced with oak timber by suspending the mosque ceiling. According to the board-approved project, the Borum floor, which was a boat house, was given a breakwater on the sea side and given a storage function. Women’s and men’s toilets and a fountain were built in its garden, and the works were completed by building garden landscaping and surrounding walls.
